NASA's Aqua satellite captured this image of the rare October snowstorm at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, showing snow cover from West Virginia to Maine.
The storm claimed 12 lives, and 2.2 million homes remained without power as of Monday, Reuters reported.

Had some family in town for the weekend, some of whom we hadn't seen in ~15 years; since the Blizzard of 96. Thought the snow was sort of appropriate, given that; Westminster seemed to cope pretty decently, at least down here on the New Windsor side of the tracks.
Any word on final totals and/or records?

What a great shot, maybe one of the best you've ever shared. I love seeing the bend of the Appalachians and the way the snow throws it into relief. I've seen this beautiful area many times as a pilot but at slightly lower altitude!
