August typically brings a break in the summer heat
FROM TODAY'S PRINT EDITIONS:
August arrives tonight, and none too soon. The eighth month typically brings the first real break in our torrid summer weather. Average daily highs at BWI drop from 87 degrees to 82. The average lows slip from 66 degrees to 61.
It can still get quite hot. All but 10 August dates have triple-digit records, including three dates, in 1918 and 1983, that saw 105 degrees. August also brings the annual Perseid meteor shower, on the 13th, but the full Green Corn Moon will wash out the show.

Which month in Baltimore is typically the best month for weather? Low dew points, mild or warm temps, etc..
FR REPLIES: I guess that's a matter of personal opinion. For me, I'd have to choose April and October. Pleasant temperatures averaging in the 50s, beautiful foliage ... And among the driest months on our calendar.
