Did Yankees build a home run stadium?
The flurry of home runs being smashed into right field at the new Yankee stadium has got meteorologists at AccuWeather.com wondering whether the geometry of the new ballpark may be enhancing the prevailing winds in ways that are blowing the balls over the wall.

With all the planning that goes into building a new stadium--especially for the New York Yankees!--don't you think they would have some way to determine how winds might affect the game? I would think this is something that could have been predicted (as much as you can) rather than a build it and then wait and see approach. I'm no architect, meteorologist or anything else that could have helped in that effort other than someone that thinks with all the money the Yankees have, they could have spent some money to study the possibilities.

Further proof that wind studies performed in conjunction with ballpark design are utterly worthless. This wasted application of science also failed Camden Yards.
