Ice or no ice? It depends ...

As the hours tick by, forecast models adjust and forecasters revise. It looks like the risk of icy precipitation late Friday is diminishing for the urban corridor of Maryland. The snowier spots in the western mountains could see some snow, but not us. Here's a piece of this afternoon's discussion:

"OUTSIDE THE MOUNTAINS AND INTO THE PIEDMONT AND
COASTAL REGIONS...PRECIP EXPECTED TO BE ALL LIQUID. MODELS IN
AGREEMENT ON WEAK SURFACE LOW MOVING SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY
INTO THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS...THE MID ATLANTIC
SHOULDN/T RECEIVE MUCH MORE THAN INTERMITTENT LIGHT PRECIP OVERNIGHT
FRIDAY INTO EARLY SATURDAY. EVEN THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF THE CENTRAL
APPALACHIANS MOST LIKELY WILL NOT ACCUMULATE MUCH SNOWFALL IN THE
SHORT TIME THIS SYSTEM IS IN PLACE."

Too bad. Looks like all you snow fans out there will have to wait a while longer for the season's first taste of wintry precipitation.
